Our Story
Before Heartz N Motion-Compassion N Action had a legal name, it began as a simple act of love between a mother and her son.
For nearly six years in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, my youngest son, who has now transitioned to Heaven, and I helped unhoused individuals and families by providing food, clothing, shoes, backpacks filled with essential needs, and other resources. It was through this experience that I discovered my calling and purpose in life.
For decades, I also faithfully volunteered with my youngest son and his mother at local food pantries and clothing closets. However, over time, a painful reality became clear: as the unhoused population continued to grow, local resources became increasingly stretched thin. There were times when I had to turn unhoused individuals away because I had run out of food to serve. That hurt.
I had to remind myself that I couldn't help everyone. But doing "enough" didn't feel like enough. I knew I had to find a way to expand our efforts so that we could do more.
Following my son's transition to Heaven, I stepped forward in Demario's honor to take our efforts a step further. I gave our ministry a name, built a mobile outreach initiative that goes directly to the communities where our unhoused neighbors reside, and officially established our nonprofit organization with the IRS on September 5, 2026.
Today, Heartz N Motion-Compassion N Action operates from a place of compassion, guided by a simple belief:
No one should ever be turned away or forgotten. Love thy neighbor.
Even though Heartz N Motion-Compassion N Action serves on the front lines and does not always have enough resources, we will still give what we have in order to bring relief to those in need. We drive directly to unhoused communities, bringing hot meals, water and Gatorade, snacks, love, compassion, and most importantly, prayer. We believe in building genuine relationships and walking it out by faith.
Our vision is to one day establish the Heartz N Motion Transitional Facility—a safe and supportive place designed to provide numerous resources and programs under one roof. These services would include medical care, counseling, AA/NA meetings, housing assistance, job-readiness tools, and other resources designed to help individuals move toward permanent stability.
This facility will be operated straight from the heart, with genuine love, compassion, dignity, and a commitment to helping people find a path forward.
